Kaitlen and Jorge chose to celebrate their marriage with an intimate sunrise elopement in Yosemite, and it was such a meaningful day. From watching the sunrise over Glacier Point to sharing a quiet picnic beneath El Capitan, every part of their day felt intentional and centered on their love story.

Sunrise at Glacier Point
The early wake-up call for sunrise was more than worth it. We arrived at Glacier Point just as the first light began spilling over the mountains, casting such beautiful lighting. The soft morning glow illuminated Half Dome and the surrounding peaks while Kaitlen and Jorge soaked in quiet moments together.
With very few people around, they were able to fully embrace the atmosphere while we captured some of the most magical portraits of the morning. One of my favorite parts about planning a Yosemite elopement at sunrise is that couples get to experience the park in a slower, more intimate way before the crowds arrive.
Ceremony at Washburn Point
After sunrise, we made our way to Washburn Point, where Kaitlen and Jorge met with their pastor for a heartfelt ceremony overlooking Yosemite Valley. Their ceremony was simple and deeply personal. Standing together with panoramic views stretching behind them, they exchanged vows in another beautiful location in the park. Kaitlen added many meaningful touches to the day by hand-making their vow books and her own bouquet.
Portraits in Cooks Meadow
Once these two were officially married, we drove into Yosemite Valley and made a quick pit stop at Tunnel View – a popular view point overlooking the valley. Next we headed to Cooks Meadow, and this part of the day was all about slowing down and celebrating. Kaitlen and Jorge spent the morning running through the meadow, twirling together, and taking in the incredible scenery surrounding them.
Some of my favorite photographs always happen during these unplanned moments when couples simply enjoy being together. Rather than posing every second, I encourage movement and genuine interaction so your images reflect how your wedding day actually felt.
Picnic in El Capitan Meadow
To end the morning, Kaitlen and Jorge shared a picnic in El Capitan Meadow beneath one of Yosemite’s most iconic landmarks. It was the perfect way to relax after an emotional morning, and these two got to simply enjoy being newly married. Sitting together with incredible views, sharing food, and talking about the day made for such a lovely end to their adventure.
Adding a picnic, champagne toast, hike, or another activity is one of my favorite ways to personalize an adventure elopement. Your wedding day should feel like an experience, not just a photoshoot.
